Etymology and Location

The name " Avalon " is believed to derive from the Welsh word " afal ," meaning " apple ." This etymology has led to the island being associated with apple trees and an abundance of fruit, symbolising a place of eternal youth and plenty. The exact location of Avalon is not clear in the legends, though it is sometimes associated with Glastonbury in England, which was once an island surrounded by marshes.

Inhabitants
